CAD

cad is how you'll design your prosthetic finger. using computer-aided design (CAD) software, you can create a 3D model of your appendage.

prerequisite: you have followed the guide to setting up Onshape with Hackatime as found here.

teaching you CAD or how to design your own 3d-printed appendage is beyond the scope of this guide as this program is designed for people who already know a little about CAD. however, I've linked below some resources that can help you get started with this program.

• you'll you need at least 2 joints on your appendage, with a max of 10
• you'll be receiving 10 20mm m3 bolts and m3 nuts, so you'll need to incorporate those into your joint designs
• to move your appendage, you will receive a servo motor, but without a mount. you need to design a custom mount for the servo motor to move your appendage.
• the servo motor will attach to a line of fishing line to pull the appendage close, so you will you need to incorporate that into your design
• the base will attach to a line of elastic which will allow the finger to come back up. you will need to incorporate this into your design.
